Active Isolated Stretching Specialist
Sarah has trained with Aaron Mattes in the USA, who created the Active Isolated Stretching technique. She has eight years of experience that enables her to help clients restore optimal flexibility and effective full range of motion.
Excellent for shoulder impingements, back pain, sciatica, scoliosis, improved circulation and increased elasticity of muscles, joints and tissue.
This technique uses active movement and reciprocal inhibition, using a 2.0 second stretch which has proven to be the key to allowing the targeted muscles to optimally lengthen without triggering the protective stretch reflex of the opposing antagonistic muscle. Without this activation of opposing tension, restoration of full range of motion and flexibility can be successfully achieved.
Sports Massage Therapy uses a variety of different techniques including effleurage, petrissage, soft and deep tissue.
if you’re suffering from tension and muscle aches this massage decreases muscle tension, and improves scar tissue recovery by raising blood circulation to the affected area.
Whether it is lower back pain, tight hamstrings or a general muscle ache I can help using my knowledge and skills. My Sports Massage can really improve posture, mood and help with relaxation, using slow and firm strokes which releases tension deep within your muscle. It is also suitable if you want to just relax.
